Workplace Employment and Training Services is a not for profit group training company.
We are registered as a charity with the Australian charities and Not for Profit Commission.
Workplace Services was established in 1985 to provide opportunities for young people to get into apprenticeships and traineeships and provide a pool of skilled workers for industry. Since that time we have helped many hundreds of apprentices and trainees to become tradesmen.
As a not for profit company our charge out rates are very competitive.
How does it work?
We advertise for young people seeking an opportunity to learn a trade or traineeship in a variety of industries including cabinetmaking, wood machining and carpentry and joinery.
Applicants are screened for suitability, attitude, ability and experience.
Any prospective employee will be introduced to you prior to their commencement for your approval.
Apprentices or trainees are placed with host employers.
There is no lock in contracts, the apprentice or trainee is employed by Workplace Services and is our responsibility. That means that if a host employer finds a Workplace Services apprentice or trainee unsuitable for any reason, they are able to return them to Workplace Services. It also means if you run out of work or simply change your mind you can return the apprentice or trainee to us without any penalty.
We will indenture the apprentice or trainee doing all the necessary paperwork, book them into TAFE, arrange their training plan, provide all the appropriate safety gear and equipment as well as pay their TAFE fees.
Each week Workplace Services will pay wages, superannuation, allowances, sick leave, and public holidays and workers compensation premiums.
This frees you up to do what you do best, manage your business.
Each week you will receive an invoice for the charge out rate which covers the above.
Our Client Services Manager will visit you and the apprentice or trainee every six to eight weeks to ensure that they are behaving in an acceptable way and diligently learning their trade. Our staff are available to assist you or the apprentice or trainee at any time throughout their indenture.
